Why I Am A Raving Fan Of Bone Broth

After being vegan for many years, I added in a daily cup of bone broth, and it changed my body, skin, energy and life.

Let’s talk life-changing foods for a moment here. Years ago as a vegan and vegetarian, I swore off all meat and animal products because of morality. I believed in the unity of animals, people, nature and the interconnectedness of all beings (and I still do).

So wanting to do my part to make a difference in the world, I altered my diet to take a stance. But after a few years on my new diet, my body didn’t respond well; I was left with acne, exhaustion, cravings and an overall sense of not feeling well.

I met an herbalist who took one look at me, and said, “You need some fat and protein, STAT.” It was against everything I believed in, but I knew my body needed something else. So I turned to food from the earth, food that nature provided, and added in organic meat from the local farmer’s market, grass-fed butter and LOTS of healthy fat. And? My. Life. Changed.

And now here I am, three years later, enjoying butter coffee and bone broth weekly. The butter satiates, fuels my brain, and encourages my body to shift into fat-burning mode, and the bone broth supports my gut health and contributes to radiant skin. Let’s talk about the bone broth, shall we?

Bone broth is full of gelatin and minerals, making it phenomenal for digestion, gut-healing, skin elasticity, joint health, immunity and overall well-being. After my first couple weeks of a daily cup of bone broth, I experienced:
